The Stage2 tune tells the turbo to spin faster to a point where that stock back pressure can damage the turbo. A catless downpipe has emissions issues depending on your state's requirements. Downpipe is the single biggest hardware mod for the B58. HPFP being second for the 1st gen BMW engines. The TU HPFP are better.
